Don't Act Like I Never Told Ya
Just some recent observations floating around my mind...
1) Tay Zonday's "Chocolate Rain" is a pivitol piece of art in society, and I will explain why soon.
2) Hip Hop is not dead, but I have theory on what may be slowly poisoning it. With so many one-hit wonders, could it be argued that infectious beats are over-shadowing the importance of good lyrics?
3) My Current Top 5 is Weezy, Kanye, Lupe, Saigon, Jada (in no real order).
Honorable mention: Common, Andre 3000, Phonte, Eminem (upon his return), Jay (doesn't currently count, nor does Nasir).
4) 50 and Kanye dropping on 9/11 was a well-executed plan from both labels.
This is good for hip hop. But how do we feel about the date itself?
5) NY > LA.
6) Travis from Gym Class Heroes doesn't suck lyrically. He's actually pretty decent.
7) People need to stop making songs with Akon and T-Pain. Yes, I know they're both musical geniuses, but Jesus Christ, can you get a single on the radio without them please? STOP THE FORMULA! This isn't a Rocky film.
8) Brother Ali is incredible. Learn more about him. He blew me away at Rock The Bells.
